Daddy's trying to show her how to push her feet

So Santa brought Allie a tricycle for Christmas, but we hadn't taken her outside to learn to ride it until today. Daddy promised that he would teach her to ride it this weekend, so today was the day. The plan was to help her ride all the way down our street then teach her some more in the parking lot of the music building (just down the street from our house). We couldn't figure out how to tell her how to push the pedals just right. Andrew would push on her knees to make the pedals move, then he would tell her to push. So she would take her hands off the handle bars and push on her knees. She did the same thing after he pushed on her feet, she would put her hands on her feet and push her feet. She did take one spill, but after a good hug and a little love she was ready to get back on the tricycle. I took a few pictures to commemorate the occasion, then went inside to check on Anna Grace. After a few minutes I went back outside to see how far they had gone and I see them coming back up the street towards the house. I asked Andrew what happened and why they weren't going to the parking lot. He said she kept telling him to push for her, she didn't want to do any of the work, she wanted Daddy to do it all and just let her ride. As you can imagine that didn't last very long. We'll try again soon.

Tonight we had a wonderful time with a bunch of our friends from LC. Allie got to play with her new little friend Bailey. We are so excited she has a friend to play with, so far all her others have moved away. This family just moved here, so hopefully they won't be leaving any time soon. Bailey has a little brother, Jesse, who's only one month older than Anna Grace. Who knows, maybe they'll grow up and be friends too.
