Meet Frank

Some of our faithful blog readers may be curious as to whether or not Santa brought Allie the fish she asked him for. It's kind of a long story. At first, Andrew was not a fan. He didn't want it to die as many fish I have owned seem to do, and have to have the death talk with Allie at this age. I told him all you do is replace the thing and she'll never know the difference. So, I'm not really sure if I actually convinced him or if he just gave in to the fact that I was going to get her one. We didn't get one before we left town for Gulfport, then we were gonna get one while in Gulfport. That didn't work out because we had to leave early due to a stomach bug that attacked my family. So, we were going to get one in Baton Rouge. That didn't happen because we were sure Walmart would be open for awhile on Christmas Eve and we could get it when we got back to Pineville later that night. We got to Pineville and they were closed before 7 pm. So Andrew had a good idea to print off a picture of a fish and leave it and a note under the tree telling her that Mommy and Daddy were going to take her to pick out her fish the day after Christmas. A fish coupon of sorts. So that's what we did today. We went to PetSmart and let her pick out a Betta fish, she picked a pretty one. On the way home she had to decide on a name. When we first asked what she wanted to name him she said "Betty". Betty is Aunt Carolyn's kitty and the name of Allie's stuffed kitty, so we convinced her to think of something else. We started naming off silly names like Bubbles and Fluffy and she said no to every one of those. Then, Andrew just started calling out F names and got to Frank and Allie surprisingly said yes. So we asked her a few more times to make sure and yes, she insisted his name was Frank. So, meet Frank, the newest member of the Hunter family.
