Wire free

Last night they finally decided to remove all the wires and cords from Anna Grace. Actually, Anna Grace decided and the nurses just gave in. First she pulled out her IV. Fortunately for her she didn't need it anymore, so they didn't have to do another one. She pulled the oxygen things off her face so many times the nurse decided to see how she did without it, and she did just fine. Then she started pulling her oxygen monitor off her toe. Anna Grace was trying to tell them she was fine and didn't need any of this anymore, and after having to put that back on several times the nurse finally agreed with her. Last night and today, she is more active and alert than she has been in what seems like months. She's been down on the floor playing with Allie, cruising again, and even tried to take a few steps on her own. The parmacist came in to see how she was doing and make a decision about whether or not to give her more morphine or just stop it all together. He decided she was not showing any signs of withdrawal and would not need it anymore. Praise the Lord for that!!!! We are eagerly awaiting word from the doctor about whether we will get to go home today or tomorrow. Of course she is taking longer today than ever to get to our room, or maybe it just seems longer. Andrew has gone back to Pineville for work so my mother has come back down to hopefully help pack us up and take us home to Daddy. The next update I give you should be from home, Lord willing of course!
